  QW7.0 11/20/01 Resistance Welding Procedures and Certification Record

This clause applies to resistance welding in accordance with specification MIL-W-12332. Welding procedure specifications (WPS) to be used for fulfilling this contract and the certification record described herein shall be furnished to the address listed below for approval at least four (4) weeks in advance of production welding.
The manufacturer shall weld and satisfactorily test the welds from one assembly or simulated specimens under Government representative surveillance.* At least one of each different type of weld shall be tested. A weld is considered to be of the same type only when the welding parameters are the same; each of the joint components have the same specified material thicknesses, composition ranges, and surface treatments; and when the weld's edge distance, spot spacing, and metal fit are the same.
The manufacturer shall record the results of this certification on for PF-072, found at www.gdls.com on the Procurement page under Quality Instructions, or one providing this same information, and submit a copy of it along with the recorded welding procedure to the address below.

* Delegation of surveillance authority to a local Government representative must be requested through Procurement. It is recommended that an additional four weeks be allowed for this request to be processed and an agreed upon surveillance date scheduled.
